Each SCOLA Insta-Class lesson consists of a video and audio clip of a segment of native language news broadcasts that have been transcribed and translated. It is accompanied by a PDF of the clip's text and, often, a translation and a short quiz.
SCOLA Insta-Class lessons are available to members of the University of Richmond community, because Richmond is a SCOLA affiliate. Therefore, you must be using the University's network or be running the University's VPN in order to have access to any of these files. For help, contact the
Help Desk.
Lessons are available either as a downloadable .zip package or as a podcast. Each lesson has four podcast episodes: the PDF of the text, translation, and quiz if available; the video clip; the audio track of the clip; the audio track of the clip with the text and, often, the translation embedded as lyrics.
To download lessons and get the URL for the podcast, click on the page for the language(s) in which you're interested.
Instructions for subscribing to the podcasts and viewing the embedded text are available here.
