In 2009 the University of Richmond's Multimedia Language Laboratory became the Global Studio. This is not just a name change; it represents a shift in emphasis from individual study and practice to collaborative learning. The Global Studio is a place where students of languages, literatures, and cultures can interact with each other and with the numerous resources made available through networked computing and satellite television.
The Global Studio has a physical location in the basement of Puryear Hall, but it also exists wherever learners can interact with others and with online resources. This wiki is a part of the Global Studio's virtual presence. It exists to help learners identify resources they can use. Some of these--like the
SCOLA Insta-Class lessons--are available only to those on the
University of Richmond network. Most are available to everyone. If you have resources to suggest, please start a thread and leave a URL.
